I followed this: https://github.com/X1011/git-directory-deploy

and more specifically where it talks about this: http://docs.travis-ci.com/user/build-configuration/#Secure-environment-variables

and ran: travis encrypt GITHUB_TOKEN=blah --add
(where blah is a personal access token I re-generated on github.com under my personal account settings)

Yes, so you did have to regenerate one. OK. Just curious if that was the solve. Thanks.
