You have to nest, otherwise the test framework wouldn't execute concurrently which would make large test suites slow. You could define your test functions before the test and just setup the callback method to make them less "ugly".

I've seen this "database reset" done before with a test/dev-only endpoint that resets the database when called with a reset key. Basically, a cURL call is done before the test suite is run that resets and seeds the database for a clean run if you don't want to have to clean everything up after every test you run yourself. Keep in mind though... that if you do this, take extra extra extra precautions to NEVER allow this in production!
