Human Activity Recognition Using Deep Learning
This was my Master's project where i was involved using a dataset from Wireless Sensor Data Mining Lab (WISDM) to build a machine learning model to predict basic human activities using a smartphone accelerometer, Using Tensorflow framework, recurrent neural nets and multiple stacks of Long-short-term memory units(LSTM) for building a deep network. After the model was trained, it was saved and exported to an android application and the predictions were made using the model and the interface to speak out the results using text-to-speech API.

Pothole Avoider is an active safety system that warns the driver about the dangers he is going to face in the next road sections, based on his GPS position; so that he can anticipate to them and reduce the probability of suffering an accident. It is an android application that analyses the movements of the vehicle to detect incidences (potholes, curves and dangerous slopes) and share them with other drivers. The detection takes place automatically and is transparent to the driver, thanks to the analysis of the data provided by the movement sensors: Accelerometer and gyroscope, applying filters and artificial intelligence. This incidences are reported to a server which warns the other drivers about them. Using the reported incidences and weather condition, the application recommends a safe speed to drive at each road section. A prototype of the application has been developed.
