Netrw shows an empty window when jumping back about vim

FWIW, I tired it with Vim 9.1.505 on Arch Linux, and it exits to shell at step 4.

I had a quick look, but too much messes with the jumplist. Even on a empty profile, I already have one jump when loading netrw. When switching to another directory, I had created several invalid jump positions, so I had to use <Ctrl-O> several times until I got back to the previous buffer. Note, even searching to the 2 directory creates a jump list entry.

I don't think there is an easy solution to it. Jumps are just created to easily (and depend on your viminfo file). I have long given up with the jumplist, I find it too confusing.

I have no idea, how Ctrl-o can return to the shell. That sounds wrong.

Sorry for the false alarm, turns out what I thought to be "exiting to shell" had to do with Midnight's Commander Ctrl-o shortcut (I ran Vim from Midnight Commander's command line).
