I believe the second way is new to ruby 1.9

So you just have to make sure your vim is using a ruby 1.9 interpreter and it won't flag the second way as an error.

All syntastic is doing is running 'ruby -W1 -c' on your file. Which means 'turn warnings on, and check syntax only'. Run your ruby file through a 1.8 interpreter and a 1.9 interpreter and you'll see why syntastic sees it as an error.

@theo-bittencourt How did you fix it?

theo-bittencourt avatar theo-bittencourt commented on August 22, 2024

Do you try MrException's solution?

Run "ruby -W1 -c yourfile.rb" on terminal and see what's happen.
Before that, make sure you're using the Ruby 1.9.x, type: "ruby -v"

I had ruby 1.9.2 using rvm but my system ruby was 1.8.7, so, I had to install ruby 1.9.2 as a system ruby.
