@barijaona not sure if this is the same thing or not but every time 3.0b.2821 starts up I have to authorize it to be able to use it's passwords all over again.

@dak180 : do you recompile or do you restart from a prebuilt-binary ?

I think it is normal behavior for the OS to ask again when it detects that it is a new version.

@barijaona it is the same binary every time and it should only be checking if it is the same code signing id.

(At least for passwords I cannot speak to the oauth stuff, I do not have anything that uses it.)

@barijaona I think I know both what the issue is and how to fix it but I need some information from you (see the bottom of this blog post for the details).

I may be able to get access to a 10.5 machine to run csreq but not for a few weeks at the earliest; so if you have access to one, that would likely be faster.

Thanks !
I am able to access from time to time to a 10.5/PPC machine, but I am not sure I will be able to install Xcode on it. csreq is not in standard OS X install, or is it ? Otherwise, installing a Leopard virtual machine might be a solution.

What does codesign -d -r- output on your machine ?

dak180 avatar dak180 commented on May 26, 2024

@barijaona codesign -d -r- gets me:

# designated => identifier "uk.co.opencommunity.vienna2" and anchor apple

but that is somewhat less than useful since I am running 10.6 and we are not embedding requirements; as described in that blog post we need to have it signed through xcode 4.3+ (not codesign directly, which is how we normally sign it).

I have no problem signing with 4.4, but compiling should remain in 3.2.6

dak180 avatar dak180 commented on May 26, 2024

Of course, this is just a one time thing to extract the info needed to properly sign it on xcode 3.2.6.

Also I was wrong, I do have regular access to a 10.5 machine with xcode installed (I had forgotten that it was not 10.4 any more).

@Rorto can you confirm if 3.0.0 Beta 9 solves the issue ?

Rorto avatar Rorto commented on May 26, 2024

Yep i confirm it's ok with Beta 9. No more OAuth2 harassment.
