Please allow me to explain the reasoning behind the current naming convention. Initially, we considered doing as Apple, and now you, have suggested, but to be honest, using that particular naming convention was too long for our liking. gradientStyleLinearLeftToRight didn't look right to us, and as designers by trade, we try to make all our projects aesthetically pleasing. I agree with you in that we should have documented the styles better in syntax, and will consider changing it in a small version update later this week.

Syntax has been updated in Chameleon 1.1.1

Here's a quick snapshot of the Change Log for 1.1.1 regarding syntax for gradients and shade styles:

Note: Although prefixing any third-party methods, properties or attributes with anything like "UI" is strongly discouraged, I want Chameleon to feel and appear as if it is one with UIKit, so I have made the decision to use such a prefix. If in the future Apple releases something like this, Chameleon will be updated promptly. Enjoy and don't forget to check out the new radial gradient style!
