It's good to note that all the color scheme logic is conducted using the input color's HSB values. However I think you're correct in converting all the necessary RGB values over to HSB (i.e. especially for things such as finding the total sum of differences, etc). I've labeled this as an enhancement, and will add this to the to do list. If it yields better results I'll definitely update the project!

Just released Chameleon 1.1.0 where this has been fixed. Chameleon now uses the HSB color space to define all of its flat colors, and it also uses the LAB colorspace to find the distance between the closest flat colors / non-flat colors and to generate flat color schemes.
