Depends what your needs exactly are. If you are looking for a CLI program that can also store records and show historical data then you might be out of luck.

IPTraf can show the current traffic per port from the command line. ntop and darkstat may also be suitable but have a web interface instead.

Such feature isn't possible using the currently available information sources. Port specific traffic information would require packet inspection which is out of scope in vnStat.
