mouse way to sensitive ubuntu 12.04 with half life 1 purchased thru steam about halflife

Just a heads up.. everything else works fine. I can play the game with the keyboard. The moment i touch the mouse my character spins out of control.

I apreciate the help. i was so exited about steam. i have always played games in linux when possible. i have played in linux since the quake 2 with native installer. i can play half life with wine and have preety good results. however i am not a fan of wine,

If you run half life (via launch settings) with -console and once in the game enter sensitivity 0.3, does it make it playable?

having an issue getting console mode .. i tried -console sfter the command

Right click the game in your Steam games list, click the "Launch Options" button and put "-dev" in that box. Then run the game and hit "~" to get the console up.

ok a mildstone. i reduced down to 0.003 and it slowed it down to the point i can see whats happening. the mouse only has one action turn right. even when i move mouse to left it moves player to right. if i turn mouse look on then no matter what way i move the mouse in makes the player look up. that includes left - right - down - up. the keyboard settings are all default. this is a fresh install
