Coming from Java and Javascript, I can say that, this is new to me. Java does not have something like that and with Javascript you have to avoid it.

So that is good to know, but by doing that you only have one global cache (Map<String, _Template> templates field of the class) for the compiled templates right?

Yes, we must unlearn our Java ways. :)

Remember that Dart has libraries. So it's top-level to the library. So, be not afraid.

To specifically answer your question, yes, you'd then have one cache for the library. If you want separate caches, you can wrap in a class.

Overall point, use top-level functions and fields when they make sense. Embrace em. :)
