This was intentional. The motivation was:
- avoid config bloat
- secure by default
- both the docker-host and network policy are part of the same chart and use the same templates for selector labels etc. So there shouldn't be any problem with keeping them in sync.
With uselagoon/build-deploy-tool#119 fixing the issue with builds failing do you still want to be able to turn off the network policy?

Part of me still thinks that having it as optional is a good thing, but with the issue fixed it is less likely a problem. I just don't want to be in a position where someone wants to disable it for some reason and then their workflow is now after every update having to manually delete the network policy.
This doesn't blow out the config too much, but it does give someone the freedom to disable this policy if they choose to.
