+1 for this. We used to get the latest git tag during the Lagoon deployment and then combine it with the branch name for a nice "release identifier" that we put in the footer so testers could identify the release they were testing.
Now it seems the git repo isn't available to the post rollout scripts?

We have seen situations where a user wants the git sha&tag in a runtime variable, so this could warrant conversation
