Hello, @guilamu! I'm here to assist you with any bugs, questions, or contributions you might have. Let's solve this together!
To resolve the vkAllocateMemory failed -2
error in Upscayl when attempting to upscale an image, you can try the following steps:
-
Ensure Vulkan Compatibility: Make sure your AMD Radeon 680m GPU supports Vulkan. You can use VulkanCapsViewer to check if your GPU supports Vulkan.
-
Set GPU ID: Try setting your GPU ID to your discrete GPU. Hereβs how you can do it:
- Open Upscayl and attempt to upscale an image.
- Go to the Settings tab and scroll down to the logs area.
- Identify the GPU IDs available to you (e.g., 0 might be AMD Radeon, 1 might be Nvidia).
- Enter the appropriate ID in the 'GPU ID' input box.
-
Reinstall Graphics Drivers: Reinstall your graphics drivers. Before doing this, use VulkanCapsViewer to confirm Vulkan support.
-
General Fixes:
- Uninstall and reinstall the Upscayl app.
- Restart your computer.
-
Windows Specific Fixes:
- Set the app to performance mode.
- Ensure you have the correct redistributables.
- Try DirectX repair.
- Disable switchable graphics if possible.
- Enable hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.
If all the above steps fail, you can refer to the Upscayl help guide for further assistance [1].

Tried all that, no luck.
