So far no. :( But nothing forces you to use modules. If you didn't rely on sun packages you can load the app on the old fasion classpath and it should work on Java 11. There's even a special switch for each file whether it should be loaded on the classpath or modulepath. Feel free to ask.

I'm not good enough at JavaEE and don't really know how well JavaEE is supported in Java 9+. Anyhow, a webapp has a complete different lifecycle than a typical desktop app. Instead of a main method - or an application entry point of any sort - the web container just looks for some known annotations and magically connects the dots for you. Update4j was really designed for the desktop, where we have a known app entry point. There is no point of calling the 'launch' method in a webapp. Nevertheless, it might still be used just for taking care of updating; with the assumption that the web container will locate the new files and somehow know whet to do with it. If the above is true, this framework has merit. The default bootstrap (what runs when you start the framework and prints a long output message along with a ASCII logo) will not work, as it tries to launch something. But you can design a custom bootstrap (as you can see from demo app, you can update or launch separately; one without the other) and do the update itself. Please read the documentation at the wiki for an insight how the framework works.
