Unstable Design Lab's Projects
AdaCAD is an experimental workspace that applies parametric design to the domain of weave drafting. It supports algorithmic and playful approaches to developing woven structures and cloth, for shaft and jacquard looms.
Contains a series of files that can be loaded into AdaCAD
Hardware and Software for the Magnetic Reverberations Project
TypeScript files to manually install loom pedals extension in AdaCAD
Raspberry Pi software to run for the loom pedals
Assets and documentation for Loom Pedals module enclosures, part of public materials for the system
An interface that allows one to design a specific overshot pattern using key commands.
PCBs
A simple framework for publishing online books.
An (In Progress) Textbook on Techniques for Prototyping Smart Textiles
Syllabi and course materials for a smart materials prototyping course, held at the ATLAS Institute at CU Boulder in Fall 2020
This code automatically generates bitmap weaving files for a TC2 for 3-layered weaves that have one set of pockets between the top and middle layers, and another between the middle and last layers. If you import images representing regions of pockets (between top and middle), tunnels (between middle and bottom), openings (vertical oriented slits in top pockets), and texture (the stitch patterns that are overlaid across the entire file) it will generate a bitmap for weaving on a TC2
Hosting of the workshop website for the DIS 2023 Workshp
A site that provides overviews and supports for all of our tools and repos. Accessible to developers and end users.
