Have you tried to run it as root ?

Yap.
It fails also if i run as root.
Just tried in a fresh Arch install and it keeps failing.

Arch Linux uses systemd. It's not your typical init script. I'll try and write one if I have time.

I think startup scripts for Arch Linux / Systemd would be very useful.
