Nothing is forcing you to use dictionaries as the content object that is served.
You can just as easily use regular python classes:
class Content:
def __init__(self):
self.get = "something"
def test_something(sftpserver):
with sftpserver.serve_content(Content()):
pass
from pytest-sftpserver.
Thanks for your input. I have opted to wrap dict recursively into subscriptable objects.
This way I can continue to use python's native dict syntax.
def test_sftp_fetch(sftpserver):
with sftpserver.serve_content(wrap({'get': {'somefile.txt': "File content"}})):
assert get_sftp_file(sftpserver.host, sftpserver.port, "user",
"pw", "/get/somefile.txt") == "File content"
def wrap(delegate):
for key, value in delegate.items():
if isinstance(value, dict):
delegate[key] = wrap(value)
return DictWrapper(delegate)
class DictWrapper:
def __init__(self, delegate):
self._delegate = delegate
def __getitem__(self, item):
return self._delegate[item]
from pytest-sftpserver.
Yes, that of course also is a valid solution.
If you don't have any objections I'll close this issue.

The workaround is sufficient for now.
