It should work, quite a few people are using their home router. Just make sure it’s provides 2.4 GHz Wifi and not just 5 GHz, Skycontroller 2 does not support 5 GHz. 802.11n should work fine, I don’t think 802.11ac is supported.
“because of fast broadband” - to be taken with a pinch of salt. I still recommend to use a mobile hotspot with a SIM card from the same carrier as the on in your Disco. Gives you lower latency and usually better performance!
