It should work now. Windows API is super clunky, especially when it comes to... well... windows. Looks like the desktop that runs normally and the desktop that has a wallpaper slideshow are actually two different windows! And what's more, when you switch to a different window, the desktop becomes foreground for a moment, probably to re-arrange windows(?).
Anyway, tell me if this works and I'll make a release.

This is with "Disable when fullscreen" option turned on, right?
And "Automatically hide the taskbar" (right click on taskbar->settings) options is set to off?

Yes, forgot to mention it.
Worth mentioning that I can also replicate if the "Automatically hide the taskbar" option is enabled. Only the fullscreen option in your app seems to affect it.
