@necolas found some hard to track down bugs around buttons not being in forms, so i'm hesitant to open up the display for inputs not in forms.
Couldn't you wrap your inputs from gwt in forms?

It should be ok to remove form from the selectors. The issue is only with button in IE6/7

Closing this—should be updated for sure with next release about to drop, 1.2, but I think it's already in there with 1.1.1.
