Honestly I'll just add a sentence or two to the question.yaml file to start that explains that both cannot be used, but if someone wants to modify thequestions using SHOW_IF and etc statements that's on them, too much work for something I don't care about that much haha

You cannot do showif across the parent dict.
Only what is under the same dict.

I'm okey with adding a note about it.
However, we based this mostly on the structure as set-up by grafana and I don't want to confuse users and complicate our mainteance by DIY'ing our own structure on top.

Hence i'm going to close this, as I don't really want to see this altered that much.
