Si, es lo mejor, yo uso eso en varios trabajos, MD5 se quedo obsoleto hace años (aunque vamos, ue han pasado mucho desde la ultima versión).
Estoy trabajando en la parte de las bases de datos y ye tenia pensado en hacer este cambio tambien
