This, I believe, is related (if not exactly) my issue from #32. I think the cause is that all the fonts are loaded statically in bulk instead of on request or as singles. If you look at the source for any of the font related classes you can see what I'm talking about. When finals are over, I was hoping to hop in and see if I couldn't offer a fix to birdbrain.

@AedonEtLIRA Ah yes same exact issue! I must have missed your issue didn't see it before I posted this.

Sorry for taking so long to respond to this. I'm going to close this as duplicate since this is the pretty much the same as AedonEtLIRA's speed issue. If you haven't already looked at that issue, he does a good job of explaining what's most likely closing the slowness. If you determine something else is causing it, please reopen this issue.
