So you mean that I should check if there is markup on the page and use that if it's present and if it's not present I should add my own? Sounds like a nice feature, especially for users that are upgrading.

Just to let you know - the code is almost finished and will be implemented in the next update. If everything goes as planned, the function will be very robust and check for all kinds of combination of elements. For example, if you have only added a left hot spot, the plugin will add the missing elements and keep your hotspot.

as you can see scrollingHotSpotLeft and scrollingHotSpotRight exist twice. the two right after are my manually created divs. i expect they would be used instead of the other ones :(

Yeah Thomas, exactly. I think jCarousel - http://sorgalla.com/projects/jcarousel/ - works like that, you can check there how it handles (I'm not sure). Thanks for the response and thanks for the plugin.
