After some investigation it seems that this change is the root of the issue:
You seem to have moved some ENV variables from /ts/TS_ENV to /ts/etc/profile instead. In addition you removed "export HOME=/root" there. Note, however, that some of them have to stay in /ts/TS_ENV which is true for this definition or otherwise building thinstation breaks (like it does for our hzdr fork). After adding this statement back to /ts/TS_ENV everything works/builds again.
