Thank you for taking your time and reporting this bug. Unfortunately, I have a lot on my hands right now, but I will be able to investigate this issue close to next weekend (or maybe sooner). I will let you know when it will be fixed.

Your bug was fixed in the version 2.3, which is already available from PyPI.
There was an interesting thing though, when daemonize flushed the contents of the locked pidfile, whilst trying to lock on it. But it's fixed of course.
