Note that emacs autocomplete package is rather buggy, it has problems with whitespace-mode and causes strange effects when used in emacs invoked from terminal. In my experience it sometimes also causes addition of some random trash when I type. I used it with jedi for python code, then grew increasingly tired from it bugs which don't seem to be very fixable (as popup.el that ac uses is rather bad hack) and in the end switched to M-TAB completion, adapting jedi to use it. I'm not saying that autocomplete support shouldn't be added, there may be people who may want to live with its glitches, but please don't make it the only option.
