We've discussed this mismatch in the Intl call a couple of times. The current thought among the group seemed to be, we don't have a clear idea of the answer for what the API should be, but this doesn't seem to be an issue which should block the v1 Intl.RelativeTimeFormat proposal overall. The predominant use case seems to be the non-compound format.

I think we still stay with the decision of leaving this for v2
, right? If yes, can we close this issue?

Why would you want to close an issue just because it's v2? I think we have it properly labeled as v2
and it should stay open.

We can leave it open. Ideally, Stage 4 proposals should not have issues open, but I donβt think it is a strong requirement. Also, when we merge the proposal into ECMA-402, we will need to freeze this repository.
