There is a Tips section in README. You can find my suggestions about decreasing memory usage and increasing the speed there. The first option is to try them.
The second option is to use Video Slideshow Script Generator GUI, which creates scripts with smaller memory footprint, supports videos and can be used to concatenate slideshow videos created for subsets of inputs. Unfortunately, Video Slideshow Script Generator is not available right now. It will be published in the upcoming days and it won't be totally free.
