Somewhat related to the title, but not the content of your post: In the "single-building-mode fobos file" example in the readme you use the "dmod" and related syntax for specifying the various directories.
This is not consistent with other examples, primarily the first example of a fobos file you give.
I also think "dmod" is not as obvious a name for a directory setting as "mod_dir" which is used elsewhere. I've made a pull request (#23) with the directories I was sure of changed, but some options I wasn't sure of
