Indeed, connecting other ethernet and installing the system76 apt repository and driver allows the wifi to begin working.

Respectfully, this is not yet resolved.
I would expect at least a warning at the top of the page calling out the specific situations in which an alternate internet connection is needed, similar to the warning about the touchpad for oryx pro.

I'm sorry about that as it seems the Github mobile application didn't let me leave a note. Those messages are usually from a hardware issue though it could be that you have a galp4 which needs at least a 5.3 kernel to have working wireless though you didn't include any other information other then dmesg about the iwlwifi driver like what OS version you installed and what model of the Galago Pro which would be helpful.
from docs.
Sure thing.
though it could be that you have a galp4
Yes, it's a galp4 per the bottom label.
which needs at least a 5.3 kernel to have working wireless
The ubuntu iso I ran was a stock 18.04 LTS desktop downloaded a few days ago. If the kernel it ships isn't new enough, then it seems we can expect other galp4 users to encounter the same problem.
I'm happy to share other details of my scenario if they would be useful.

It would also happen to the darp6 as well due to the 10th Gen CPU's though we haven't seen any issues with the default kernel that Ubuntu ships with when it comes to this package:
linux-generic-hwe-18.04 5.3.0.28.96
Which is shipping with the 18.04.4 ISO.

I wanted to be sure that the issue was adjusted before closing this issue.

Thanks for checking in. I don't know if the issue was specific somehow to me or not, I have not re-attempted the install process since. It seems like as a fresh install I would be similar to others, though..
from docs.
We could add a note at the top of the article that a 5.8 kernel needs to be installed (which is installed with the system76-driver) for newer systems to have working Wi-Fi.

@ahoneybun why is this labelled as invalid? Also the kernel/Intel gen info should still be added if it still applies.
from docs.
Since we aren't shipped any distros with a kernel older then 5.8 I believe it is invalid.

@ahoneybun @storyaddict Can this be closed?
