A good suggestion, but I don't think it's possible at the moment as the current Deck.gl implementation doesn't support this.

I think for now it will be up to the user to replicate rows of data the required number of times to generate the number of data points to be 'binned'.

Although, they do have a getWeight parameter on the screengrid function. Maybe you could ask on their github to do the same for the grid-layer ?

Thanks @SymbolixAU. Replicating rows is the best workaround for now, and the uncount function from the tidyr package does this quickly and easily.
