I agree :D. However the api zoom(level, point)
should stay. Only the calculation to which level to zoom next should be refined. But I see you did it like that.

Yes this only affects the scrollWheel zoom. With this change the zoomFactor config probably should also change name/description. The mentioned plugin calls it 'zoomScaleSensitivity'.
What do you think? A good suggestion for a new name for it or we just change the description of it in the docs to reflect this is not 'how much is zoomed' but the factor by which it's zoomed?

I think its not worth breaking the api so I would stay with what it is for now and maybe change it, when we jump onto the next major version (which will probably be never^^)

this change also slightly breaks backwards compatibility because 1 wheel scroll will zoomIn/out different values than before. I think that is OK and not a huge problem but what do you think?

hm maybe you are right and we should bump the major version. However I really would like to have the area constraint feature in the next major version (#14). I guess you did something there already, right? :D
