It seems, I was not able to upload the file to github. Is is available on the URL
http://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts/Devices.aspx?product=PIC16F1788
The delivered filename is 400001675B.pdf (it is the same file described above PIC16f1788.pdf)

One problem with PDF is that it doesn't contain information about word boundaries. In this case, SumatraPDF considers T and CY two different words whenever CY is a subscript to T. Searching for "t cy " should find you all the missing instances.

Hi Zenico
Thanks for the explanations.
I write direct to you because the "bug report" place is now the
wrong place and I have not opened a thread in the forum.
Before I sent the bug report yesterday I tried with Foxit (I hate
it) and with PDF Architect (I hate it more). Both found all
occurrences without delimiter.
With the space delimiter Sumatra shows me sentences like "last
cycle" and so on as excepted.
The other both Readers did not found anything when I serched with
delimiter
My problem is: I don't know what I have to enter into the "find"
field before I found out, that a problem, an uncertainty exists.
With other words, when I don't know the excepted results (eg because
I saw the term on the current page) the find function is not working
or working in a unknown way.
Do other PDF Readers work differently than Sumatra?
Thanks a lot and sorry for the troubles
Bruno

@kjk the original file referenced above appears to be updated however the replacement exhibits some similar behaviour On testing between versions older pre release did not find tcy until page 412 (skipping lots of other entries) and in total only a handful of occurrences. similar to the original issue
"about five entries, the first entry on page 411. With another PDF Reader I found 42 entries, the first on page 95."
The newer builds will find tcy at page 95 (as expected) and there are over 40 hits thus latest behaviour suggest this issue can now be closed
