Good point, this is something that should be better documented.
You can find all of the existing exclusions with the following (props to Heissenberger Laboratory):
$ find ~ -xattrname "com.apple.metadata:com_apple_backup_excludeItem" -type d -prune
From there, you could pipe that list (or some version thereof) to tmutil removeexclusion
to make them re-eligible for backups.
For removal, you would either delete the Asimov directory (if you've installed manually), or run brew uninstall asimov
(for Homebrew installations).
