This looks useful especially in the case when the user wants to keep using a particular edition of JSLint even though a new one has been published to the jslint repository.
We addressed this recently in node-jslint by supplying multiple editions of JSLint and allowing the user to specify an edition with an argument (or config file option), e.g. --edition=2013-11-23 or --edition=latest. Perhaps a similar system would work here.
