I just started using the Android Wear watch faces and am also bemoaning the lack of a date displaying anywhere. Is there a difficulty getting the date to display in the current watch faces coding-wise?

It is possible to show the date on the AAPSv2 Android watch face in AndroidAPS. (The watch face also exists in AndroidAPS' display-only variant called NSClient, if you don't want the full AndroidAPS.)

Once you have selected the AAPSv2 watch face, you can double-tap the top half of it to go into the settings menu. In the settings menu you can switch on the date display.
