@stefanpenner quick update on this: I'm giving a talk on Ember ATX on the 24th of January to raise some awareness about this issue, so I'm thinking this should be totally done before that day.

@mkoczka I started the PR yesterday, hope it helps out a little. I'm currently doing an eak-to-ecli upgrade so I'll update as I go along. I'm also going to give a talk on the 24th to raise awareness about this issue.
