I have never used flexbox because of browser support. Is there really a solid way to make flexbox work down to IE6?

No - the flexbox spec hasn't even been finalized yet. It's at the Candidate Recommendation Stage, IIRC. Not all browsers implement the same version of the spec. It's a little bit too volatile for production sites - probably best for experimentation purposes only or things that'll only work in a certain browser (like a chrome web app or whatever)

Yeah... I'm just not sure this is worth putting a lot of effort into. The flex module is there if people want to experiment, but I don't want to encourage bad practices.

If that's so we should add a note in the docs (and obviously not integrate it further until it becomes stable). But I'm curious: what IE version are we aiming to support?

I agree, this should be added to the docs. And I'm not after any specific version, everything should work in any version if you do it right. Just don't want to push forward unfinished things that don't work in older browsers. I'm happy to offer them, just not push on users and sink a lot of effort into them.

For devs doing client work it's essential to know with what version of IE they can use Axis reliably, maybe we should document this a little clearer.

Any version of IE. Axis is not a library that works or breaks in various versions of IE, it just prints styles. For example, gradients don't work in most versions of IE, but it's not because of axis, it's because that's how gradient support is. You know what I'm saying?

If we add any mixins to axis that add specific functionality and do not work because of our implementation in various browsers, I think it's worth adding info about that, but we don't have any of those at the moment as far as I'm aware.
