How to organize the data?

So the only type persistent storage I've ever used for data has been an SQL database or text files. Since we only have two users, I imagine we'd create a database for each of us and then just use that to track location, time, place, activity, etc. However, like I said I don't have that much experience with persistent data storage so I'd love to hear any different ideas that you may have.
