We need to update the AWS docs, for sure. I don't recall what company originally wrote that guide, but it definitely needs a refresh.

Subnets: The problem is that the VPC configured vpc-31e76957 likely only has one availability zone inside of it. When you select a VPC Subnet inside of Spinnaker, we're grouping VPCs which have the same purpose (as defined by the naming conventions, or via an EC2 tag).

If you don't have a group of subnets with an external purpose, Spinnaker will not display it as an option for you.

Load Balancers: Just use Classic Load Balancer, which is what guide was written for. That'll simplify the LB creation flow, as it'll match the guide more closely. Redis talks on 6379. You wouldn't expose redis to the outside world, ever, so I generally think there's a larger mismatch in expectations here than I'm understanding.

Instance Types: As for the m3 family things, it's a super old family, so we updated the default options to match more current families. All instance types are available through the Custom Type view, if you really need to launch an m3.
