It is possible to use the latest mpi with a 2023 release of the compilers, which still have icc. If someone is using intel-specific wrapper names, I would rather keep the behavior consistent with the upstream package.

I told our end user this when the bug first presented itself. They needed to migrate from mpiicpc to mpiicpx because that's the new convention anyway. Felt it was relevant to dig in and see if this was an issue that needed to be addressed or if it's a quirk of the intel migration happening this year.
