So, you have a song with the two artist values "Alva Noto" and "Ryuichi Sakamoto", did I get you right? Since the screenshot is very small I can't see exactly what you did there, but I assume that you opened "Alva Noto" and then displayed the song with the two artist values, right? Then it is the intended behaviour that only "Ryuichi Sakamoto" is shown. This is because mpdevil only shows additional artists there. If you added three artist values then mpdevil would display two artists. So no values get actually ignored.

Ah yes, you're right!

There's a problem though, that while this behaviour is correct, it also makes it appear as if the only artist of the track is what mpdevil assumes is the additional artist, while in this case, there's two, and they're both the main artist.

There's two solutions I can gather, either append "with " before the artist name, or just show all artists.

I'd actually prefer the latter because this behaviour is confusing, considering mpdevil works by release rather than by track. When I select an artist in mpdevil, I do not expect at all for the album artist to be the default artist for each track, and the rest to be exceptions.

I have albums that are compilations, but the album artist is someone else entirely, so when a single artist is empty between a dozen tracks, it becomes confusing. I have to look back at the left pane to remember which artist I clicked.

The current behaviour is exactly what I expect and thus won't be changed.
