Btw. it is a stanard installation. And not sure if that is relevant. I have a AMD based system. I use the onboard graphics card and sound device though i have a Nvidia based RTX2070 graphics card installed (I only use it for machine learning).

Why not try my binary .deb file for sonic-pi_4.3.0 for an amd64 build. It is a later version and is running OK on my virtual Ubuntu 22.04 You will get best results connecting to your sound card via qjackctl before launching it.

I suggest you purge your 3.2.2 install before trying.
use sudo apt purge sonic-pi followed by sudo apt auto remove before installing the 3.4.0 deb file using
sudo apt install ./sonic-pi_4.3.0_1_ubuntu22.04.amd64.deb from the folder to which you download it.

Thank you @rbnpi for the Ubuntu deb file! I was able to install 4.3 version from that. I tried building from source code myself but encountered too many problems related Erlang versions and it's dependencies.

SonicPi doesn't work on my machine even if I used @rbnpi's deb file

@reyesvicente You can try installing the latest version (4.4.0) using flatpak.

  1. I recommend installing new version of Ubuntu (22.04) or some other distro using new Ubuntu under the hood (I'm using Tuxedo OS 2)
  2. You need to install flatpak - on Tuxedo OS 2 it's already installed, but it's really easy to install it on Ubuntu as well.
  3. You need to install Sonic Pi

This should be a better solution for your issue - I hope it helps!
