Thank you for your updates. I have filed an issue internally. This is a bug with our native iOS SDK (that Cordova is built on). This bug should be resolved when iOS SDK is updated with bug fix.

Understood. I know that you have been putting a lot of efforts integrating with the latest beta iOS SDK. It seems to have resolved some problems but created others. Please let me know when you have a chance to update to iossdk.next, I will test right away.

the native SDK is the sdk with this bug, and as far as I know there is no fix for this. I will update when the fix is released. But do keep in mind that Archiving is in private beta so little bugs do tend to happen from time to time.

Yes. Understood. Thanks for looking into it.

the iOS team got back to me saying that this is not a bug. You archive shows more video than your mobile device because mobile device video views are cropped. You can solve this problem by increasing the height of your view.

It is technically to adjust to screen size dynamically during archive and this is why the video archive width and height will always be fixed. Hope this makes sense, let me know if you have other questions!

You mean the video is cropped because of its position in the browser HTML
page? Like some other element would cover part of it?

If so, I do not think that it is accurate. You may have got mislead by the
(bad) example provided to you which is inside of a web application I
apologize for that. The same behavior appears when viewing the video by
downloading it from the S3 repository and viewing it in VLC. Does that make
sense?

If you want, you can put me in touch with the iOS team and I can provide a
better isolated example to them.

Here is the same video outside of a web app (I just downloaded it from the S3 link returned by the OpenTOK API).

You will notice the same behavior. The objects that he aligns on top of the video when looking at the "mirrored" stream (or looking at the stream as a subscriber) appear towards the bottom of the frame when looking at the archive.

One more note: I can confirm that this problem does NOT occur when the publisher streams from Chrome (and not cordova/iOS). In such scenario, what I see in the mirrored stream is identical to what I see in the archive.

Because cordova provides an implementation of the JS API, the code is identical in both cases (the HTML layout and the publisher instantiation code are both the same).

Hi,

Could we have an update on the correction of this issue?

We have customers complaining about this offset on the archived video.

Any support would be valued and appreciated.

@songz any update there? I just updated to master and it still does this. As mentioned above, it can't be an HTML frame issue as the problem shows when playing on iOS (which plays videos outside of the browser). Also, archiving works perfectly on the browser version of this app, which uses the exact same code (web app => package with cordova => replace OT JavaScript api by this cordova plug-in).

Let's talk verbally if your team need more clarification. It's been months and this is a significant issue for us.
