We will not implement skipping the nil sort, because it is illogical when you have multiple sortables. You are sorting by only one column, why should be the other ones sorted by default in that case? Also please note, that the separate branch version is not official and you must wait for master release to get this functionality.

Thanks. Is there support for multiple sortables? It seems that clicking on a column always clears the previous sort.

Hi @aaronchi, you can now specify possible sort values using :sort_dirs option. By default it is [nil, "asc", "desc"] but you can change it for example to ["asc", "desc"] only.

Regarding multiple sortables: yes, clicking on a column always clears previous sort. There's currently no possibility to sort by multiple columns. We might implement this in (not so far) future.
