If the goal is a 'hands-free' version: yes, but it's possible (not breaking the security ofc, but using the original seed to generate otp's like the GA app does, (I think this does the whole thing automatically https://github.com/pyotp/pyotp))

But that's not the issue right now, first version would be using anything from a logged in browser window.

EDIT: Barring any other js challenges, having the request.Session handle all of the cookie stuff might make sense, so actually making the login request might be a good way to do this.
