Yeah, I can't say I'm happy with pytest adopting the "we can't get our API right, so f-it **kwargs" thing, but I'll get a fix out when I can.
Is there a pytest 7 feature that you need right now?

Curious: why are you seeing a PytestDeprecationWarning as an exception? Any kind of DeprecationWarning is best ignored until whatever it's moaning about is actually removed or actually happens...
