I've noticed 7.2.0 just dropped, so I've updated to it, but the issue is still there.

Thanks for the updated info. The 404 errors seem to be a separate problem which we will investigate.

Same issue here on 7.2.1. It should be noted that if I restart Signal the images will show, but as soon as a new one is sent, that one is stuck loading forever after that point.

I had my wife send me an image first before submitting this. Check the timestamp around 2024-03-22T01:16:29 which was when she sent the image. Thank you for looking into this!

This happened at the same time on 3 of my laptops (M1, M2, M3). Same wifi (Starlink), using Google DNS 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4, all other apps on the wifi load fast and perfectly.
(*Cleaning Signal database / relinking is absolutely out of question for me here, I will rather switch the messaging solution. It would be great if there was a way to port old messages between computers -- not offering this from "security" perspective makes absolutely no sense. Plenty of other sensitive data on people's laptops, protected by the laptop's security.)

I'm also noticing that clicking on the Reply icon on the "still loading" image/video messages doesn't do anything. Can't reply to them.

In the log, I've noticed a bunch of 404 errors on the Signal API, perhaps this is an issue of misconfigured server? Would this be still the right place to raise it?

This is happening on Windows 11 as well. iPhone works fine. They never load, even after restarting the app. Multiple computers.

Edit: Had to resort to the delete application data button. Oh well. It works now, but lost all archived chats on PC of course.

The bad thing here is also that downgrading to an earlier version of Signal Desktop is not an option due to incompatible database format.
